There is one thing I’ve noticed and have been pondering on for a long while. Isn’t it funny that some of the activities that bring us the most joy in life require physical movements?
Whether it’s the basic human reproductive activity of mating, playing sports, riding a bike, sprinting or jogging or even dancing. Some of the most joyful moments I’ve had in my life involved walking in nature or trekking up a mountain which sometimes left me exhausted.
Multiple research has found that the lack of movement causes depression or at the very least introducing movement (exercise) helps relieve the symptoms of depression.
Even when we aren’t moving physically and are sitting in front of the TV, our mind sees itself in the first person on screen moving, jumping, running, and this also brings in some kind of joy, although to a very limited level than actually moving.
Want to know how to multiply this feeling even further? Moving with a friend.
Exercise with a friend, play sports with a friend, dance with a friend and you will be able to quadruple your good feel hormones.
Consequently, increasing the amount of movement should increase the amount of happiness. Be happy today… Just move as much as you can.
